Creating the perfect dynamic within a team requires a distinct vision for what we as a company are looking to achieve in combination with an extensive interview process on our end in order to find the right fit.
The mission of The Foundry is to be the best resturant in the Mid-Atlantic region, and we plan on measuring the success of this in a couple of different ways. First, we want to be James Beard Foundation Award Nominated (and preferably award winning), which is often called "The Oscars of Food" and measures excellence in cuisine. Second, we want to be a destination restaurant, meaning people come from a radius larger than our county in order to try our food because of what they have heard or read. And finally, we want to be busy. We are certainly not a reservation-only resturant, but if you are highly recommended to reserve your seat, then we are doing something right.
In order to achieve these goals, building a culture where our team members drive each other to be better every night is key. Whether it be by helping each other with tasks, teaching each other ways to improve, or simply setting new standards for what excellent service we can provide, we are aiming to create a team of all-stars. The Foundry isn't just about excellent food, but an excellent over-all experience, which starts with good service.
The interview process was eye-opening, and we enjoyed talking to people about their past experiences and the various reasons they chose to interview with us. We weren't necessarily looking for the most experienced, but for personality above all, someone that was easy to talk to, excited about food and local business, and had a desire to be successful. After getting to know each one of the interviewees better, we've invited the best and brightest in the area to be a part of The Foundry.
And I know that they are all excited to meet you.
